Ditching the to-do
Seth and I both had intimidating lists to conquer on Saturday. Mine involved the five loads of clean laundry piled on our bed. His included grading papers and tackling a dissertation, among other things. But it was 75 degrees outside, and sunny. The kind of day that rewards us for braving the punishing heat of an Austin summer.
So we threw a few water bottles in the backpack and headed down to Zilker Park.
Then on to Whole Foods for pizza, fruit bars, and picking of the perfect pumpkin. Addison said, while licking his banana popsicle, “This is the happiest day of my life.”
And Seth and I glanced at each other with a look that said, This is why we set aside our unyielding agendas. The laundry, as you well know, will be around forever. But this only lasts so long:
