Embroidery boy

October 27, 2009

While I sat on the floor this morning, brainstorming how I was going to pull together three fairly complex Halloween costumes by Saturday, Preston was busy on the couch doing this:

He’s been begging to sew for ages now, so while Asher was down for a nap, we dug through the garage together and found the embroidery hoops, burlap, blunt needles, and floss. One can imagine the sound effects that come from a four-year-old, complete boys boy, as he pulls the thread up and down. There was an intense, explosive naval battle going on with that needle, diving in and out of the cloth as I had taught him.

Then his friend Ty showed up, dressed as a space alien, and the two sat on the couch and sewed for the better part of an hour before running off to play space aliens vs. super heroes.

Pres and Ty

How I love these little men.
