Rolling into the New Year

January 4, 2010

The boys had one request over Christmas break: “Please, please take us bowling!” they begged.

We managed to squeeze it in the day before they headed back to school.

And yes, that is Jackson lobbing the ball down the lane. We kept expecting the floor to crack or the manager to come over and evict us for our treatment of both lane and ball, but neither happened. We had a great time, and decided that whatever wood the lanes are made of is what we need in our next house, because we didn’t make a dent. Miracle wood!

My favorite part was watching Preston heft that bright orange ball. I had to sit on my hands to keep from helping him, but he really wanted to do it all by himself, and he only dropped it once. (And thankfully not on his toe.) It’s so fun watching these boys grow older and more independent.

Life returns to normal this week, which is always such a relief after the upheaval of holidays and off schedules and many, many house guests. The quiet and the clean will be nice. This might, just might be the year I actually learn to be organized…here’s to hoping!

What fun!! We were just there over the weekend. 🙂 Keep your eyes peeled – there is often a coupon in the Val-pak that comes in the mail for 1/2 off bowling at Westgate (it’s usually on a sheet with 3-4 other coupons). It saves about $8-ish!

Ah, so good to know! After we left Seth said, “That was fun, but it sure was pricey!” Coupons, here I come.
