Spring break! It happened. Chock full of camping, (rain),fishing, (more rain), an overnight adventure with Grandma to the coast, Phantom of the Opera (just Seth and I), lots of good food, and after all that rain, some really lovely weather. And a special night with Seth and his boys in Jackson’s press box, watching an alma mater get creamed in the Round of 32.
Ah, nature! The smell of the campfire and the feeling of sleeping in a tent. Cooking cake in an orange over hot coals. (Gotta try it sometime. So fun.) An exploration without Mom and Dad–so exciting to grow older. Touring a battleship. Sand in the toes.
Phantom! In sleep he is still singing to me. So is the Indian cuisine we had beforehand: coconut curry shrimp. Ah, ah ah ah ah, ah ah aaaaaah.
And here we are, back to Monday, cooking, laundry, dentists appointments, listening to the Biscuit Brothers, sleeping indoors (alas, I don’t think Seth will ever spring for my idea of a home with retractable walls), and looking forward to that next glorious break.
