First of June

June 1, 2011

Right now we are:

–Finishing up our first year of Cub Scouts, and find ourselves grateful for the moments it helps us create.

–Honoring those who have served, both family and stranger.

–Cherishing a day out on the St. Croix River with good friends who are shipping off to the East Coast. Sniff.

–Playing “graduating.”

–Actually graduating. I can’t believe this boy is on his way to kindergarten.

–Sad that I don’t have an excuse to gather with these amazing mothers and Joy School teachers anymore.

–Experimenting with a gluten-free, dairy-free diet, and eating a lot of rice and rice cakes. Any tips for such a lifestyle change?

–Reading outside.

–Eating outside for the first time.

–Preparing for the arrival of family and friends, and gearing up for a much-anticipated hop across the pond, just Seth and I.

–Wishing you and all the swirling birthday people (Julia! Matt! Max! Jackson!) a very happy welcome into June.

Love your pictures…sounds like you’ve been busy! I’m curious as to why the gluten-free, dairy-free change…did someone develop an allergy in your family?

We love us some almond milk! The kids favorite “treat” is the vanilla flavored kind…lol! Not super healthy, but takes the edge off needing something creamy to drink if your kids are anything like mine.

Melinda–we have tried almond milk as well from Trader Joe’s, and really like it. I need to try it in my ice cream maker.

Fun-filled days. Cute pictures. Was that Preston in mid-air? Good job catching that picture! Congratulations on the graduate…Preston!

Do wish you could/would swing by and see us on your Europe trip! It’s such a quick and relatively inexpensive jaunt…weather is great here on the sea and you won’t regret it! XOXO – Z

Oh, I so wish we could. We’re just not there long enough. But it gives us something to return for–soon! I hope all is well with you guys!
